Willow goat is a part of the Willow family and mostly thought of as a worthless twig. Willow goat proved itself as good material for carving. The dark decayed parts that have since dried out make the surface vivid. I was doing some forest clearing in Central FInland and found this bit of willow, which turned out to be some very nice material to work with.
Raita on pajuihin kuuluva puu, joka usein mielletään arvottomaksi risuksi. Tämä Keski-Suomesta risusavotan yhteydessä talteen ottamani pajun pätkä osoittautui soveltuvan hyvin veistämiseen. Puuaineksen tummat lahoamisen jälkeen kuivuneet kohdat toivat pintaan lisää elävyyttä.
